Picture quality is very good. Black levels are quite good as well. Some people have had some light bleed from the side, or some “flashlighting”, but mine is very minimal-you really have to strain to see it. Tru-motion is very crisp. It makes for some really good football and hockey.
The viewing angle is really good too. I can walk from one side of the room to the other without any change in picture quality.

2d-3d is ok, its definitely nice to have. Its about 1/4 that of intended 3d, as far as depth.

Passive 3d is quite good. Lots of depth and depending on how it was filmed you do get some things coming out at you. Its fun for a new look, but I think 3d in general needs some more time to reach its potential.

The menu is easy to use, with a ton of settings, a load of apps., and even a browser.

If there was any complaint, it would be the stand. Its a bit flimsy, but once its in place it isnt going anywhere.

I just turned on the TV speakers for the 1st time for the sake of this review, and hey, not too shabby, pretty good actually. In case that might be a selling point for someone.

The Samsung UN60D8000 is awesome, picture quality/features/looks and lot more. It is 21st century and it was about time to integrate gadgets in the tv, to avoid all the clutter to connect to tv.

Integrations like Wireless internet, DLNA, Browser, qwerty remote are a move in the right direction. There are other TVs that offer this, but Samsung UN55D8000 has done a superb job in this regard. Vizio XVT3D474SV Spectacular TV for the fraction of competitor’s cost. Netflix and Amazon apps work flawlessly. I do not even bother with the cable watching anymore. Streaming over wireless is perfect. I use apple wireless router at my apartment. 3D is great as far as the TV flavor of 3D goes.

Do not expect IMAX in your home but some wows will be heard. Just do yourself a favor and turn off smooth motion settings off. If the “smooth” setting is on it makes all films look like soap opera. Everything starts to look like it was shot on video instead of film. It maybe not understandable by everybody but if you do feel that film doesn’t look right get to advanced settings and modify motion enhancements to off.

Also the sound is great and TV got minimum of light reflections. I hate this idiotic idea of plastic transparent frames around TV or super-reflective piano finish. I am video editor and NONE of the professional HD monitors come with the reflective frames. I have no idea why the rest of the TV watching public subjected to distractive reflections. This one is not perfect but better than the most.

The product was easy to order on Amazon and delivery was set up, with an appointment, and they arrived exactly as scheduled. TV was unloaded, unpacked, plugged in and they waited until I was satisfied that it worked.

The XBR55HX929 is an absolutely awesome TV. It was very easy to set up, with instructions right on the TV. It progressed without a glitch. The picture is magnificent and the smart features all work as advertised.

The only negative, is the Owners Manual. It is very abbreviated. A detailed manual is available via a button on the remote, but it would have been helpful if the printed manual was more inclusive.
